ORLEN Eko LLC conducts its business activity in the field of industrial wastes recovery, recycling as well as neutralization, including hazardous wastes. It is based in the area of the PKN ORLEN S.A. production facility in Płock, ul. Chemikow 7.
ORLEN Eko LLC is located within the production-industrial complex comprising:PKN ORLEN S.A. production facility, Basell ORLEN Polyolefins LLC, ORLEN OIL LLC as well as ORLEN Asfalt LLC. The said business entities utilize the common technical infrastructure which in its majority makes up the property of the production facility of PKN ORLEN S. A.
One of ORLEN Eko’s chief activities is, under the content of the entry to the Business Register, the wastes management.
Under PKN ORLEN S.A. Capital Group’s strategy the main task of ORLEN Eko LLC is supporting the business entities belonging to the Capital Group of PKN ORLEN S.A. in the field of streamlining of wastes management systems, especially by means of processes of their recovery and/or neutralization using methods and technologies which are friendly to the environment.
The Company operates under legally valid administrative decisions in the field of environmental protection as well as the Integrated System of Quality Management, Environment Management and Industrial Health and Safety provisions pursuant to the following standards:
- PN - EN ISO 9001:2008
- ISO 14001:2004
- PN - N-18001
During a year the Company processes about 100 000 tonnes of wastes, out of which about 30 000 tonnes undergo the thermal transformation. At present our Company recycles and neutralizes about 50% of the total mass of hazardous wastes produced in the Mazovian Province.
The Company’s activities which are inseparably connected with its core business and the responsibility for the natural environment include, among others:
- ORLEN Eko LLC is a member of the Program "Responsible Care" implemented by entities from the chemical sector worldwide. Joining the Program our Company knowingly and voluntarily has committed itself to acting for the continuous decreasing of noxiousness to the surrounding environment, for the improvement of our employees’ health and safety as well as the local community
- Our Company supports the works of the Regional Centre of Ecological Education in Plock whose objective is the dissemination of pro-ecological activities among children and the youth in our region.
- ORLEN Eko LLC participates in the organization of events connected with the protection of the natural environment such as: the Earth Day, the World Cleaning Day, etc.
In September 2008, investing 155 mln PLN, the Company concluded the adaptation programme co-ordinated with the Mazovian Voivode [Wojewoda] providing for, among others:
- in the first stage: the construction of the sludge consolidation unit
- in the second stage: the construction of wastes thermal processing facility
The successful conclusion of the a.m. program let the Company meet the requirements of all appropriate legal provisions in the field of the environmental protection.
